Bright, happy smiles lit up the GIIS KL Auditorium on September 22nd, 2026, as our enthusiastic Kindergarten and Standard 1 and 2 students took an exciting step toward healthy, sparkling teeth! In a wonderful collaboration with the warm and friendly team from Nadia Dental Clinic, our young learners gathered for a fun, engaging, and highly educational dental screening day designed to make taking care of their teeth a joyful adventure.

The auditorium transformed into a welcoming check-up hub where lead dentist Dr. Vengedes Kalamehar and the Nadia Clinic team greeted the children with big smiles and reassuring care. Using gentle tools, just a small dental mirror and a flashlight, Dr. Vengedes carried out swift, completely pain-free evaluations to inspect each child's teeth and gums for early signs of decay, swelling, or alignment needs. The relaxed atmosphere immediately put any nervous jitters to rest, turning what could have been a scary doctor visit into a lighthearted and empowering experience.

Beyond the individual checks, the event turned into an interactive learning showcase. Students were thrilled to learn all about proper brushing techniques, step-by-step guidance on reaching every tooth, and the importance of choosing healthy snacks over sugary treats. By bringing these lessons to life, the session strongly aligned with SDG 3; Good Health and Well-being while instilling core 9 Gems values of physical well-being, self-awareness, and personal responsibility. Teaching preventive care early helps our students stay comfortable, confident, and present in class without the worry of painful toothaches interrupting their learning journey.

To ensure that this positive momentum continues at home, personalized oral hygiene report cards were sent back with each student to keep parents updated on their child's dental wellness. It was truly a delightful day filled with laughter, learning, and a united effort to grow healthy daily habits and even brighter smiles across our GIIS KL community!
